Sustainability
Our Commitment to Green and Sustainable Business Practices In 2009, Bank of Commerce Mortgage (BOCM) launched its Green and Sustainability Initiatives. Here are just a few that make the way we do business safer for the environment and better for our employees and the community.
Paper Waste Elimination Our loan origination platform is now paperless. We have also committed to making all of our marketing collateral available on the Web. As a result, we have been able to save more than 100,000 pieces of paper per month -- well over 1 million pieces annually.
Green Printing Standards We are dedicated to green printing standards, including the use of recycled paper and eco-friendly inks and solvents (whenever possible), saving our forests and protecting our oceans, rivers and streams.
Community We sponsor charitable events each year that help us give back to local organizations in the communities that we serve. BOCM also sponsors individual loan originators who are involved in local fundraising activities and educational programs. In 2011, the company will support charities that promote affordable and sustainable home ownership options.
Energy The building managers at our San Ramon headquarters plan to install solar power. To date, the building has installed new energy efficient lighting, improved its water savings, implemented a recycling program and mandated the use of eco-friendly cleaning supplies.
Mobile Workforce Reduces Transportation Impact Using Internet technology that supports our growing mobile workforce, BOCM offers systems and processes that make it possible for employees to work remotely – anytime and anywhere. Web conferencing and other tools increase productivity and work-life balance.
